Man is arrested in threat with knife

A man was arrested Saturday night after threatening another man with a knife during an argument in Wahiawa, police said.

A 22-year-old Wahiawa man argued with a 44-year-old Wahiawa man in an apartment complex and left but later returned with a knife. The younger man threatened the older man with the knife and chased him around until police arrived at the scene.

The younger man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Gas station robbery attempt fails

Police said they are searching for a man who attempted to rob a Chevron gas station near the Windward City Shopping Center early Sunday morning.

At about 2:45 a.m. a man dressed in black clothing and wearing a dreadlock wig entered the gas station, brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the station attendant.

The attendant hesitated, and the man fled the scene without taking any money or property.

The man is described as an 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds.

Aiea man caught after beer is stolen

A 51-year old Aiea man was arrested Friday in the theft of four bottles of beer from a Kalihi supermarket on June 10.

Nolan Crabbe was charged with second-degree robbery, after being identified by the store's loss prevention officer in a photo lineup.

Crabbe allegedly kicked and punched the officer before fleeing in a vehicle. His bail was set at $20,000.

Heavy equipment theft on Big Island

Big Island police are investigating an unusual and expensive tool theft from a storage shed in North Kohala.

A yellow Kent hydraulic hammer, valued at $8,000, attaches to a backhoe and is used to break rocks.

Police say it would have taken at least three people to lift the heavy hammer.

The theft occurred sometime between June 27 and July 3, police said. The hammer model is KHB8G, and it has the serial number 6XN036.
