Komen benefit has hot guys up for bid

Money might not be able to buy you love—but it can buy you a date tomorrow during “;Burning Down the House”; at Oceans808.

Now in its seventh year, the annual fundraiser for the Hawaii affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization that supports breast cancer research efforts around the United States. Honolulu's most eligible lifeguards and firefighters will be on the auction block, with winning bidders receiving a date package that includes a “;fun activity,”; dining certificate—and hot guy!

Doors open at 6 p.m. tomorrow, with the first bachelor presented for bidding at 7 p.m. KRTR-FM night jock Ola Souza and Roxy on the MIC will host the proceedings.

Pacific Rim Youth Chorus booked

The Pacific Rim Youth Chorus, with the help of artistic director Henry Leck, presents two public concerts featuring the choral music of Asia, Polynesia and other countries of the Pacific Rim area.

After tomorrow's annual concert at the Brigham Young University-Hawaii's Cannon Center, Sunday's event in town will be the culmination of the “;Voices on the Wind”; festival, as international students from grades 6 through 12 show the public what they learned during the previous four days on Oahu.

Three hundred-plus voices will be singing songs from China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Canada, Columbia, Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand, the Philippines and the Torres Strait Islands. Special guests will include Kenny Endo's Taiko Center of the Pacific Youth Group, Halau Hula Olana and the Philippine Cultural Group of Hawaii.
