WHAT'S IN STORE

Coin's marine-life jewelry at Elle

Elle Couture Jewellers recently unveiled the Roberto Coin marine-life jewelry collection, featuring dainty diamond-studded, white gold pendants in shapes of starfish, sea horses, angelfish, lobsters and more.

Through the end of the year, the jewelry store will be donating 10 percent sales of the sea-life collection to Friends of Waikiki Aquarium. FOWA members will also be able to get a 10 percent discount off their purchases of the pendants, which start at $620.

Each pendant also features the Italian designer's signature small ruby set inside, in a hidden position that touches the skin, as a secret gift of good wishes to every woman who wears one of his creations.

BEAUTY SPOT

Whole Foods offers skin care aid

Summer months are rough on skin. Time spent with bare limbs outdoors is an invitation to sunburn, insect bites and minor skin injuries.

As it turns out, Whole Foods Market is not just a source of sustenance, but has all the resources for putting together your own natural skin care and first-aid kit, with soothing products to deal with all the bumps and bruises that come with summer fun. You can put an all-encompassing kit together for less than $50.

Start with sunscreen for protection from UVA and UVB rays. Aubrey Organics Natural SPF25 ($9.49) fits the bill, blocking the sun while nourishing skin with green tea and jojoba.

Deter insect bites with All Terrain Kids Herbal Armor Insect Repellent ($4.99) made with six essential oils in a water- and perspiration-resistant formula that repels mosquitoes and other insects for up to three hours.

Take care of minor skin injuries with Dessert Essence Tea Tree Oil Skin Ointment ($6.99) or Boiron Calendula Ointment ($6.99). The latter has anti-inflammatory qualities that make it ideal for treating cuts, scrapes and minor skin infections.

Muscle aches and pains call for a touch of Arnica Gel ($7.99), which helps to reduce pain, swelling and discoloration of bumps and bruises.

Apply ointments or stop bleeding with pesticide-, herbicide- and fungicide-free 365 Everyday Value Organic Quilted Cotton Rounds ($2.99), and wrap up injuries with All Terrain Fabric Bandages ($4.59).
