Man arrested in small blaze at Ala Moana condominium
Police arrested a 47-year-old man on Sunday who allegedly started a small fire in an Ala Moana area condominium.
At about 11:45 a.m. Saturday, the man was recorded on a security camera using a hand-held torch lighter to burn an electric card reader and security camera in the common area of the building, police said.
An officer reviewing the video recognized the man, who gave no local address to police, and found him the next day near Kalakaua Avenue.
The man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree arson.
Woman and girl allegedly punch 2 girls after collision
Police arrested a 19-year-old Big Island woman and a 17-year-old girl who allegedly attacked two other girls after a motor vehicle collision in Hawaii Kai.
At about 2:50 p.m. Sunday, two teens, ages 18 and 17, told police that after the accident on Kalanianaole Highway, the occupants in the other vehicle became upset and punched them in the face.
Police arrested the suspects Sunday on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
