QB Club honors 'Iolani coaches
'Iolani baseball coach Dean Yonamine and Raiders softball coach Lance Watanabe will be honored at tomorrow's Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon at the Pagoda Hotel.
Yonamine and Watanabe were selected as Coach of the Year in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu in their respective sports. Yonamine, who retired after this season, will represent both at the lunch, as Watanabe is unable to attend.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the noon speaker's program. The weekly event is open to the public.
Menehunes pull away from Aliis
Antonius Kreitz's bases-loaded triple in the bottom of the sixth broke a 2-2 tie and the Kauai Menehunes went on to a 6-2 victory over the Hawaii Aliis in a Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League game at Mililani High School.
Chris Sardini struck out seven over seven innings, scattering 10 hits, to pick up the win.

» Chris Tanabe and Ralph Knese drove in runs in the top of the ninth to lift the Waimea Waves over the Waikiki Surfers 5-4.
» Christopher Burke drove in four runs—three on a homer in the seventh—and Easton Torigoe added three as the Kamuela Paniolos rolled past the Oahu Paddlers, 11-4.
Stanley helps U.S. finish off Italy
Former Hawaii opposite Clay Stanley came off the bench in Set 4 for 10 points to help the U.S. men's national team defeat Italy 25-19, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21 in an FIVB World League match last night in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Stanley had four of the team's eight aces and added six kills in playing one set. The U.S. (7-3) finishes pool play against the Netherlands in Wichita, Kan., on Friday and Saturday.
Tinman needs race volunteers
Course marshals and transition area helpers are among the volunteer positions still needed to be filled for the 31st Tinman Triathlon on July 26.

UH-Hilo offering 2 soccer camps
Applications are being accepted for two University of Hawaii-Hilo soccer camps later this month.
Camps are open to boys and girls, 6 years old through high school seniors. Session I will be held on the Old Kona Airport Soccer Field on July 20 to 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $145.
Session II will be held on the UHH Baseball Field from July 27 to July 31 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $85.

Eldredge clinic for baseball set
The 6th annual Eldredge Athletics Baseball Clinic is scheduled for Aug. 1, at the Punahou baseball field.
The cost is $65 and includes T-shirt and lunch. The clinic, open to ages 9 through 15, is limited to 80 participants.
