Float in the pool, see fireworks display

Head into Waikiki tomorrow for a free pool party at the Sheraton Waikiki that should also provide an excellent vantage point to enjoy the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Hot 93.9 morning show personality Flash Hansen will host the event, with $5 mojito and $3 beer specials, an outdoor barbecue pit and complimentary access to the Sheraton Waikiki pool for all attendees. DJ Rayne will spin throughout the afternoon and into the evening; validated parking is available in the hotel garage.

'Street Fighter 4' competitors to face off

The Hawaii Video Game League will fire up their consoles this weekend at LOFT Gallery & Lounge in search of the state's best “;Street Fighter 4”; players.

The second annual competition, which doubles as a benefit for the Hawaii Food Bank, will determine who will travel to Las Vegas and represent Hawaii in the national EVO Championship Series. Doors open at 3 p.m. Sunday, with the finals scheduled to get under way sometime around 7 p.m.

Entrants are still being accepted for the tournament; the cost is $30 with sign-up at 3 p.m. Sunday, or $20 with at least 40 ounces of food donations.
