Crabtree & Evelyn at Ala Moana Center has closed its doors.

The store occupied about 850 square feet on the ground floor of Ala Moana Center next door to the ABC store since 1985. Thursday was the last day of business for the store, which held a two-week closeout sale.

“;It was a corporate decision,”; said Yolanda Singleton, a manager from the mainland.

Crabtree & Evelyn, based in Connecticut, sells bath and body products, soaps, fragrances and aromatherapy blends that are naturally inspired.

There are no other Crabtree & Evelyn stores in Hawaii, although the Waimea General Store on the Big Island will continue to carry a selection of Crabtree & Evelyn products as a specialty retailer.

General Growth Properties, landlord and owner of the mall, declined to say at this time if a new tenant is moving in.

Miss Sixty/Energie also was liquidating its merchandise from the center while Build-A-Bear Workshop will close at the end of June.
