UH's Wong makes U.S. national team

Hawaii baseball player Kolten Wong made the final 22-man roster for the 2009 United States national team yesterday.
Wong was one of 12 position players selected after 10 days of trials in Cary, N.C.
The incoming sophomore at UH was selected as a utility player and said “;they got me playing all over”; in a text message.
In intrasquad games played over the past 10 days, Wong played outfield, third base, shortstop and catcher.
The U.S. national team begins its season today with a five-game series against the Canadian national team.
The American team plays in the USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series in Japan from July 10 to 16 before finishing the season with the World Baseball Challenge in Prince George, British Columbia, July 18-26.
