Are you ready for Father's Day, coming up Sunday? If not, here are a few thoughts as you head out the door to the nearest shopping mecca. We assume he already has lots of T-shirts.

» Dads with a passion for waves will want to meet The Meyerhoffer, a surfboard created by renowned industrial designer Thomas Meyerhoffer. Using the natural world as an inspiration, Meyerhoffer created a shape that is organic and fluid. Designed with three different sections that many say look like a woman's body, the design's wide tail, minimal waist and classic nose brings short board elements into a longer board to maximize speed and turning, provide paddling ease and allow high-performance nose riding. The board makes it suitable for beginners and advanced surfers. Prices range from $645 to $895. Available at Rip Curl Waikiki, 2284 Kalakaua Ave. Call 926-4100.

» For the dad with Ferrari fantasies without the proper funding, you can share part of the lifestyle in the form of driving gloves, sunglasses and key rings and key cases from The Ferrari Store at Royal Hawaiian Center. For his desk, a set of three Ferrari erasers shaped like tires runs $22. A set of six matching pencils is $20. Hard-to-get Ferrari books also are available, at $32 to $120.

» Treat the king in your life to Shop Toast's Father's Day collection of snacks. Packed into a quartet of soda bottles are mini yakko arare, nori iso peanuts with green peas, hot arare with peanuts, and smokehouse almonds, at $25. Look for the set at The Wedding Cafe, Menehune Mac Factory Store, and Shop Toast at 3434 Waialae Ave. They'll be open noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday.

» The executive dad who still has a job might want to polish his workday appearance, just in case. Toward this end, silk ties from Salvatore Feragamo run about $160. A stylish new briefcase, available in camel or black, runs $1,800. At Ala Moana and Royal Hawaiian centers.

» For the dad on the go, stop into Coach, at the Hyatt Regency, where travel kits are $78 and a classic Hamptons style men's nylon duffle bag is $328.

» Treat dad to a day of pampering at the Kahala Hotel & Resort's Spa Suites, where a new men's retreat room is a guy's-only haven, complete with a barber chair for shaves and haircuts, massage, and a couch and large screen TV. The Spa Suites is offering it's 60-minute Kane Facial at $176 this month, reflecting a 20 percent discount. For reservations, call 367-2525.

» If your dad is still wearing his Ray-Bans from Tom Cruise's “;Risky Business”; days, it's time for an update. He can stick with Ray, but he'll fit into the 21st century better with this fluorescent style, from $109 to $199 at Macy's.

» Find a pen to suit dad's personality at Bittner, where fine writing instruments amplify the pleasure of writing. The Waikiki Beach Walk boutique (at Beachwalk and Kalia Road) carries quality pens at less than $50 to Collectors Club Rare Pens such as the Bentley limited-edition Azure and Cartier China Inspiration that run thousands of dollars. Shown is the Visconti Munch “;Scream”; limited edition (388 pieces worldwide), priced at $1,013. Call 924-8828.

If you've got no money, you can still send a video greeting to dad. At Animoto.com, all you need to do is register to upload a handful of digital photos, choose fitting music on the site, and let it go to work on your video greeting with multiple effects that will leave dad thinking he's raised a video genius. Wouldn't that be a nice thought on his day?
