Masked culprit sought in armed robbery at store
Police continued their search yesterday for a man who robbed a University Avenue area store Sunday night and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said the man entered the store at about 5:55 p.m. Sunday, wearing a black, hooded, long-sleeved sweatshirt, black ski mask and dark sunglasses. He robbed the lone female employee at gunpoint, and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
Police arrest teenager, 16, in Kalihi armed heist
A 16-year-old boy was arrested yesterday in connection with a Kalihi armed robbery last month, police said.
The teenager, who had what appeared to be a black handgun in a bag, robbed another 16-year-old boy who was walking with a girlfriend at 3 p.m. May 4. The suspect took the victim's property and ran, police said.
Boy surrenders to police in liquor store robbery
Police arrested yesterday a 16-year-old boy who authorities believe helped rob a Kaimuki liquor store May 16.
The teenager guarded the entrance of the store while another 16-year-old boy grabbed two cases of beer from the cooler and tried to walk out, police said.
A 57-year-old man who worked at the store tried to stop them, but the teen guard subdued him, police said. The two got into a waiting car and drove away. Police identified the two teenagers; the teenager who stood guard turned himself in to police Saturday.
