Crazy Shirts celebrates history

Crazy Shirts shows its statehood pride with new designs celebrating Hawaii's 50th anniversary as the youngest of the United States of America. President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially proclaimed Hawaii the 50th state on Aug. 21, 1959.

The 50th Anniversary of Hawaii Statehood logo is featured on Crazy Shirts' ti-leaf dyed shirts. On the women's scoop-neck tee, the logo tops a hibiscus band, and on the back of the men's crew neck, it's encircled by hibiscus and fern leaves. The men's line also features a crew neck T-shirt with the official anniversary logo fronting the Hawaii State flag.

The 50th Statehood Anniversary line also includes a women's design that features the Hawaiian Island chain with a pink hibiscus, and reads “;Celebrating the Big Five-0, 50th Anniversary of Statehood.”;

The designs are available in adult sizes and retail between $25 and $29. Look for them at all Hawaii retail locations and online at www.CrazyShirts.com.

NARS re-issues classic nail polish

In honor of NARS Cosmetic's 15th anniversary, founder and creative director Francois Nars has resurrected some of the brand's long-lost nail polishes from the archives. For a limited time, experience the signature high-gloss, extra durable formula in an assortment of five vibrant nail hues that never go out of style. They are:

» Blue Lagoon: An iridescent powder blue, originally launched in 2001.
» Cha Cha Cha: A semi-sheer tangerine with gold reflections. Originally launched in 2001.
» Hunger: A hot orange red for summer, geared toward classic red devotees. Originally launched in 2001.
» Tallulah: A slightly moody and elegant shade of rich grape, originally launched in 1998.
» Zizi: Clear with peach and gold glitter to dazzle on its own and when layered atop other colors. Originally launched in 1999.

NightMarket goes carbon-neutral

NightMarket@AlohaTower returns next Wednesday, combining local fashion, food, art and music with a touch of green.

From 5 to 10 p.m., there will be music by Kitty Lee & L Records, with live art installations and exhibitions by the GroundUP Movement, a $20 per cut cut-athon by Ulupono professionals, and a peek at the trailer for the movie “;Fuel,”; presented by Green Earth Media.

NightMarket@AlohaTower is partnering with Blue Planet Foundation to make this event carbon-neutral and sustainable.

Dylan's Candy celebrates Barbie

A taste of Dylan's Candy Bar is available at Neiman Marcus in the third-floor gourmet department.

Dylan's Candy Bar is marking Barbie's 50th anniversary by bringing Barbie style to the candy aisle with chocolate bars, squares and coins packaged in Barbie's signature pink and graced with the images of the dolls through the years.

The chocolate packs range from about $8 to $28.

As for the fashion connection, Dylan's Candy Bar is owned by Dylan Lauren, daughter of designer Ralph Lauren.
