Local island contemporary band Kawao celebrates the release of a new DVD with a party at T-Spot Hideaway tonight.

“;With Love and Appreciation”; was released on May 5 and allows fans to “;get to know the band members as they document their experience of being part of the music and entertainment industry.”; It also gives fans a sneak preview of Kawao's new single, “;She's Got It Going On.”;

Hosted by VIP 808 Entertainment, “;Friday Night Live”; is a 21-and-over party; doors open at 9 p.m. Cover is $10 at the door.

Drum-and-bass fans will be happy to learn that “;Audiolab,”; a monthly party that caters to fans of the musical genre, is back after a brief hiatus.

Now housed at Alter Solum—better known as Chinatown's Ong King Arts Center—“;Audiolab”; will feature a turntable showdown between DJs BassX and Mech, plus a “;farewell set”; by DJ Rhythmstar and a special guest performance by Los Angeles-based DJ CRS. MCs Kelvin Zero and Enemy will host.

Cover for tonight's party is $5 for those 18 and over; those old enough to drink are invited to bring their own beverages. Doors open at 11 p.m.

Waikiki nightspot Coconut Willy's presents a special evening of live performances to benefit Sounding Joy Music Therapy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the use of music therapy in health care.

Starting at 9 p.m. tomorrow, local bands Roadkill, Amrap and Escape will perform live sets with Jaegermeister on special all night long. No cover will be charged during this 21-and-over event, although a suggested donation of $20 will be collected at the door.

Scene Fifty, HI Def 808 and V3 Promotions have teamed up to host an all-new Thursday party for the summer of 2009.

“;Status”; is geared toward the 21-and-over crowd looking to get a head start on the weekend, with drink specials and prize giveaways to go with music by DJs Idle, Stimpy and Logoe. Scene Fifty's Big Mike will host.
