YMCA festival offers family fun
A day of family fun awaits at the Mililani YMCA Fun Fest, from noon to 5 p.m. May 30 . Highlights include a “;Hawaiian Treasures”; sale that will feature new and used items, a silent auction, food booths, crafts and a lei contest.
The Mililani Y Arts Dancers will entertain with ballet, jazz, hip-hop, hula and Tahitian performances. Kalei Gamiao, a 2009 Na Hoku awards nominee, will also appear.
Admission is $5 at the door.

Le Jardin to hold soccer fundraiser
Le Jardin Soccer Academy hosts its inaugural fundraiser, “;An Evening Under the Stars,”; from 5:30 to
10 p.m. June 6. The event will take place on the school's soccer field.
Big City Diner, Bob's Pizzeria, Formaggio, Fat Boys, Excessive Celebrations and Cold Stone Creamery will provide the grinds while Better Brands will supply the drinks.
Highlights include “;Just Like Vegas”; activities, entertainment by Wide River Academy of Fine Arts and a silent auction. Proceeds will go toward establishing a scholarship fund and purchasing sports equipment.

Workshop targets teacher learning
The Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin and USS Missouri Memorial will host a free daylong workshop for kindergarten to 12th-grade teachers from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 24.
Teachers will have an opportunity to tour the four historic sites with educational directors who will assist them in furthering their knowledge of American, Hawaiian and WWII history. Educational materials are aligned with Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III to enhance the curriculum for teachers in the social studies, science, math, language arts, fine arts and music fields. Aeropostale flies into town
Aeropostale is making a splash just in time for summer, with the opening of two boutiques, one in Ala Moana Center and the other in Windward Mall.
The retailer specializes in casual apparel and accessories geared to teens 14 to 17, and those who shop opening day will find an assortment of warm-weather shorts, dresses, graphic tees, bikinis, board shorts and more. Price points are about $17.50 for tees and mix-and-match bikinis are about $26.50. Guys Henleys and polo shirts are about $24 to $29.50.
The store opens tomorrow at Ala Moana Center, on the third level, near Aldo.
The Windward Mall location opens on May 29, on the upper level, near Hot Topic.

Kukui oil a summer skin saver
Waialua-based company Oils of Aloha is ready for summer with its line of Kukui Essential AfterSun products.
The Kukui Essential AfterSun cream, lotion and oil run about $11 to $13 at Longs and ABC stores. Also available are a quartet of SPF15 Kukuiae Natural Dry Lip Therapy chap sticks for about $12. Each package contains strawberry guava, pineapple, coconut and flavor-free formulations.
Kukui oil has long be recognized for its ability to alleviate skin conditions such as dry skin, eczema and psoriasis.
