2 young men knock down, rob and stab man in Kalihi

Police were looking for two men in their 20s who robbed and stabbed a man in Kalihi yesterday.

At 8 a.m. the man approached the two suspects after they called out to him near 2244 Kalaunu St., police said.

The suspect asked him whether he had any money, and when he told them he did not, one of the suspects punched him, knocking him to the ground, police said. While the victim was down, the other suspect stabbed him, police said.

The victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. Police did not provide a description of the suspects.

 

Man swinging baseball bat injures 3 at Pearl City park

Three people were injured early yesterday by a man wielding a baseball bat at a Pearl City park, police said.

During a 3:10 a.m. fight between two groups of men at Manana Park, the suspect used a baseball bat to threaten his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend, police said. He allegedly grabbed her hair, hurting her neck and head.

Police said the man also used the bat to assault a 23-year-old man, causing minor injuries. The suspect then shattered a car window with the bat, police said. A 17-year-old girl inside the car suffered minor injuries from shattered glass.

The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage, first-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree assault and abuse.

 

1 suspect held after 3 men rob woman in her vehicle

Police charged one of three men suspected in the armed robbery of a woman last week.

Peter Mino, 20, was charged Saturday with first-degree robbery, unauthorized entry into a vehicle and several firearm charges. He was held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

At about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday a 28-year-old woman was sitting in her vehicle with several friends in Mililani when three men approached, police said. Two of the men were wearing ski masks, and the third was armed with a rifle, police said. The men assaulted the woman at gunpoint and took her purse, police said. Mino was arrested Friday in Wahiawa. The other suspects were still at large.

Sivanu Taaga was not charged with first-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a vehicle as reported in this article. The man charged and indicted by a grand jury was Peter Mino, who used the alias Sivanu Taaga.
