Guy. N. Rothwell of Rothwell & Lester, architects, announces that plans have been drawn for several small, strictly modern homes to be erected at the new St. Louis heights subdivision at a cost not to exceed $4,500 each.

At a recent meeting of the architect's association it was decided to conduct a campaign for improvement in the appearance of the “;smaller home”; section of Honolulu, and it is thought that by the cooperation of the larger architects, this can be successfully accomplished. Acting in conjunction with this decision, the plans drawn for the new homes St. Louis heights have been given special attention.

The homes are unusually unique in design, in keeping with the extraordinarily good location of the tracts on which they are to be built, and the effects well studied to fit the shape of the particular lot and the general contour of the surroundings.

In planning these houses, which are to be placed on the market, careful thought has been given to the choice of exterior material and its adaptability to a tropical climate as well as to a rugged setting. The most modern interior fixtures are being embodied with a view to making these dwellings both beautiful and homelike, particularly appealing to those with high ideals and limited finances.

The location of St. Louis heights presents many possibilities to the builder of the small home and it is toward making it an outstanding achievement that the architects' aims are directed.
