The Susannah Wesley Community Center hosts an all-ages party from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday that will also double as a canned goods drive for center's Youth Service Center Food Bank.

Cover is $5 at the door (plus at least one can of food), with a variety of activities planned for teens. A three-on-three dance battle will be staged, along with a crew dance battle, open microphone session, Rock Band tournament and graffiti demonstration by Urban 808.

Money raised during this event will be used to purchase a vehicle for the center, so teens will be able to participate in field trips and other outings.

The ladies of Cherry Blossom Cabaret return to the Mercury Bar on the outskirts of Chinatown for “;Speakeasy: Prom”; on Saturday.

Cover is $8 at the door before 10 p.m., with special event “;chaperone”; Shannon Winpenny in the house alongside Rice Paddy Daddy, Otto and DJ Mr. Nick. Local magician Mr. Bond will be joined by Deja Mereaux to peform tricks for the audience throughout the night. Guests will also be invited to take “;prom pictures”; with Firebird Photography and enter contests for best prom king, prom queen, prom wallflower and best do-it-yourself prom outfit.

Big Island-born dancer Malia Delapenia returns with her annual belly dancing event, although its undergone a name change and will be held at a different venue than the previous two years.

Formerly known as “;Late Night at the Pyramids,”; Sunday's “;Hawaii Belly Dancer Event”; will transform the Kapiolani bar into an “;ethnic event”; with performances by belly dancers from around the world. Doors for this 18-and-over event open at 6 p.m. Sunday; cover is $10 at the door.

Emmy, Golden Globe and Grammy Award-nominated artist Mos Def returns to Honolulu for another performance at Pipeline Cafe next week.

The rapper, born Dante Smith, has concentrated mainly on Hollywood roles over the last few years, starring in movies like “;The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,”; “;Lackawanna Blues”; and “;Be Kind Rewind.”; His latest role is in the movie “;Next Day Air,”; in theaters now.

Mos Def is back at Pipeline for the first time since performing at the club three times in 2007. His new album, “;The Ecstatic,”; is scheduled to be released later this year.

Tickets for Thursday's concert are $38; VIP tickets are also available for $80 each. Doors open at 7 p.m.
