The Hawaii Pacific University United Nations Club won the Honorable Delegation award, and student Daniyal Saud was named Outstanding Head Delegate at the 2009 National Model United Nations Conference in New York.

J. Tyler Cade and Iyar Martin were selected as committee chairman and rapporteur respectively. Other attendees included Patrick Branco, Morgan McLellan, Sai Oo, Malia Schroeder, Renee Stewart and Stefanie Wesch.

The United States Distance Learning Association recognized the Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning program as one of the top 10 in the nation. Kamehameha's program received a Gold Award of Excellence in the category “;Best Practices Awards for Distance Learning Programming.”;

State Farm Insurance Co. employees and agents presented the Hawaii Foodbank with 1,655 pounds of nonperishable food and monetary donations totaling $3,025.
