Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages is offering neighbor island students a chance to win cash prizes for their schools this month in its annual Yellow Pages recycling competition.

Schools that collect the most directories per student will be awarded cash prizes of $700 to $1,000, a Hawaiian Telcom news release said. The program collected 90 tons of used directories on Oahu recently.

Through May, outdated directories will be collected at Garden Isle Disposal on Kauai, Orchid Island Rubbish and Recycling on the Big Island, Maui Disposal on Maui, Makoa Trucking on Molokai and schools on Lanai.
