Honolulu's Michelle Wie shot a sizzling 67 yesterday in the second round of the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill for a two-day total of 5-under 137 in Williamsburg, Va.
She is tied for 14th and trails leader Lorena Ochoa, who has an eight-shot advantage on the Punahou School graduate. It marked the sixth consecutive LPGA Tour round Ochoa has led as the world's No. 1 player continues to round into form.
Wie began her day with an eagle at the par-4 first, holing out a shot from the fairway. The Punahou School graduate followed that with a bogey and another birdie en route to a 33 on the front. She had six birdies and four bogeys for her round.
Through two days, she has hit 17 fairways, 25 greens in regulation, needed 55 putts and is averaging 266.5 yards off the tee. She is looking for her third top-10 finish of the year.
