Chinatown to host street festival
Kumu hula Vicky Holt Takamine and the PA'I Foundation will host the MAMo Street Festival in Chinatown tonight as part of Maoli Arts Month, a celebration of native Hawaiian artists and their works.
Pauahi Street will be closed from 6 to 10 p.m. The ARTS at Mark's Garage, the Chinatown Boardroom and Louis Pohl Gallery will also be open.

DJ Garth to kick-start cosmic fun
London native and thirtyninehotel co-founder DJ Garth returns to Honolulu to debut a monthly party at the Chinatown gallery/performance space. “;Space Truckin'”; celebrates the emerging cosmic disco/nu disco/re-edit sound that is growing in popularity and originated in an Italian club called Cosmic during the '80s. According to thirtyninehotel's Gelareh Khoie, it “;has evolved into a catch-all term that describes a style of deejaying that could involve anything from crusty old jams ... to quirky tech house.”;

Mishka to perform reggae at Pipeline
Born in Bermuda and raised on a 40-foot sailing vessel, singer-songwriter Mishka might be new to you, but he's been on his musical grind for 10 years. After releasing his self-titled debut in 1999 and “;One Tree”; in 2005, his style of reggae music caught the ear of actor Matthew McConaughey, who signed Mishka as the first artist on his new label, j.k. livin' Records.
Mishka arrives in Honolulu today for the final stop of a three-island Hawaii tour in support of “;Above the Bones,”; released in February. He'll be joined at Pipeline Cafe by local openers Ooklah the Moc, Anuhea Jenkins and David Tamaoka.

Fill Mother's Day with tea and fashion
Get an early jump on Mother's Day this year by taking Mom to the Contemporary Museum on Saturday for tea time and a fashion show.
“;TCM: Mom and You”; is a special spring trunk show featuring a variety of jewelry, clothing and vintage designs by established and emerging local designers. UMEE Honolulu, CLOTH Hawaii, Zsuzsa Bakonyi-Rodgers, Martinique, Sierra Dew and Soozou will showcase their newest products and designs available for purchase; the museum's TCM Cafe will also be open for tea, lunch and dessert service from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
