Kamehameha-Hawaii edges Mililani

Ohi Parker scored three goals to lead Kamehameha-Hawaii to a 7-5 win over Mililani yesterday in the opening match of the Local Motion/HHSAA girls water polo championship at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center.
Parker scored twice in the third quarter as the Warriors held off the Trojans to advance to a quarterfinal match against second-seeded Roosevelt at 3:15 today.
Mililani's Kanani Mazzone scored twice in the third quarter to pull the Trojans within a goal. But Parker scored with 14 seconds left in the period and the Warriors shut out the Trojans in the fourth.
Minnie Whitford scored four goals and Keola Kahaulelio added three more to lead Kahuku to a 12-5 win over Kamehameha-Maui. The Red Raiders next face fourth-seeded Hilo today at 4:30 p.m.
Top seed and defending champion Punahou opens against Kalani at 7 p.m.
Tina Pulu's goal at the 4:04 mark of the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as Kalani held off Leilehua's comeback bid for a 6-5 win.
Nanea Fujiyama and Ashlee Akeo scored three goals each to lead Kamehameha to a 10-3 victory over Kapolei in last night's final match.
