Kapaa High School on Kauai and Holy Family Catholic Academy on Oahu won interactive classrooms worth $17,000 at the recent Hawaii Education Technology Conference and Expo in Honolulu. The Audio Visual Co. donated the equipment and installation for the two classrooms. A SMART Board was donated to Central Middle School as a “;bonus prize”; because of the high volume of entries AVCO received in response to the contest.

Amanda Lavenberg has won the Chaminade University Student Employee of the Year Award as well as the state Hawaii Student Employee of the Year Award. She has worked for Chaminade's Office of Student Activities and Leadership for nearly two years, serves as student body president and is active in community service on and off campus.
