WAC baseball tourney tickets on sale
Ticket packages for the 2009 Western Athletic Conference baseball tournament, ranging from $25 (upper section) to $35 (lower and mid-level seats) are on sale beginning today and are good for all four days.
The top six WAC teams will compete in the double-elimination tournament May 21-24.
Tickets can be purchased online at HawaiiAthletics.com, at the Stan Sheriff Center box office, or by calling 944-2697.
No. 20 Hawaii is tied with Nevada for the league lead.
Early registration for marathon
The Honolulu Marathon will continue to offer early registration in May at a fraction of the regular price.
Runners registering on May 23 and 24 at the Sports Authority in Waikele will pay $30 for the opportunity to run in December's race. The regular fee begins at $85 for Hawaii residents and increases as the year goes by.
The hours for early registration are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Hawaii sailors on to nationals
The Hawaii sailing team finished in second place at the Pacific Coast Sailing Championship at Santa Barbara, Calif., yesterday.
The Rainbow Wahine earned a trip to the national regatta with their performance, their 10th appearance at the elite event. The national championship will be held May 26-28.
Stanford took first place in yesterday's regatta.

HPU takes 2 from Hawaii-Hilo
Hawaii Pacific swept a baseball doubleheader from Hawaii-Hilo yesterday at Hans L'Orange Park.
Blake Amaral paced the Sea Warriors in the first game, going 4-for-5 in a 15-12 victory.
Keoni Manago went 4-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs to lead the Vulcans.
In the second game, Micah Takahashi pitched five effective innings for the win in a 10-1 rout.
Jonah Hobson and Cheynne Hirota both went 4-4 to lead HPU (25-16) at the plate.
UHH sweeps Chaminade in softball
Hawaii-Hilo swept a doubleheader from Chaminade in softball yesterday at Hualani Field in Hilo.
In the first game, Christina Pedroza pitched a four-hitter in a mercy rule-shortened, five-inning 8-0 win.
Christina Pedroza led the way at the plate for the Vulcans with three RBIs.
In the second game, Amber Waracka hurled an eight-hitter in an 8-1 win.
Sierra Green led UHH (25-20) on offense with three hits.
Chaminade fell to 9-39.
