Actress Maureen McCormick, best known as Marcia Brady in “;The Brady Bunch,”; recently spoke to Baldwin students and teachers, encouraging them to help make a difference in the lives of others through the Best Buddies program.

McCormick told the students about her brother who is mentally disabled and how the program helped to enrich not only his life, but hers as well.

The purpose of Best Buddies, according to its vice president, Katie Talbot, is to “;enhance the lives of those with intellectual disabilities through one-on-one relationships.”;

“;The program was very informative,”; Talbot said. “;Through this presentation, more students and teachers learned about the program, and we can have more participation and support.”;

Best Buddies, a nationwide program, branched out to Maui last year. Five other schools on Maui are involved. Baldwin has 20 buddy pairs and 10 other members. Students develop friendships and socialize by going to the movies or spending time together.
