Local photographer/promoter Russell Tanoue, Tom Moffatt Productions, Aiea Bowl and Valerie Joseph Boutique will party for a purpose today at Pearl Ultralounge during “;Queen of Hearts,”; a benefit for the Hawaii Foodbank.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at the nightspot inside Ala Moana Center. Cover is $20. Guests will have a chance to win a variety of prizes, and Mrs. Honolulu 2009 Valerie Miao (below) will be on hand for meet-and-greet and autograph-signing sessions.

Universoul Clothing introduces a new, monthly live music showcase at the Living Room tomorrow.
“;Soul Live”; will kick off at 10 p.m. every last Friday of the month, with $1 drinks before 11 p.m. and $2 drinks until midnight. From midnight to 1 a.m. Saturday, all drinks will be priced at $3 each. Along with the cheap drinks, this party will feature a relaxed dress code and free parking.
To help jump-start the party, local recording artist Kaipo Kapua will perform songs off his latest album, “;Waiting on a Dream.”; His single, “;Give Me One Chance,”; has enjoyed success on local radio station airwaves over the last few months.

”;BOAY Day 8”;
Kakaako Waterfront Park, Ewa Pavilion
Double-O-Spot, Livewire, One Vibe and Legendary Sounds present a full day of fun for fans of electronic dance music.
“;BOAY Day 8”; begins with a potluck-style picnic at Kakaako Waterfront Park from noon to 9 p.m. Along with the food, turntables will be set up to help provide entertainment. That evening, the party moves to the Shop (580 Dillingham Blvd.), where more than 20 local deejays will spin until 4 a.m. Cover is $5 at the door, and promoters will disclose a special after-after-party location at some point during the evening.
Among the deejays scheduled to appear: Zane, Errick, Nakanna, Kyoko, T.O.M.-E, Mindgame, Jaegurl, Trancis, Willis and Keebler.
