Love trumps law

The Big Island couple forced to live in different care homes for the past two years can look forward to a happy reunion. Terry and Sidney Kaide, who have been married for 63 years, suffered the unintended consequence of a law meant to protect Medicaid recipients; state lawmakers are moving to provide relief. The Kaides, their family and caregivers should be commended for their forbearance in the face of the hardship caused by the long separation.
