2 on Big Isle sought for jumping bail; another wanted for assaulting officer

Two Big Island men are being sought for jumping bail, while a third is wanted for assaulting a police officer.

Marciano Dennis Samana, 34, is wanted for jumping bail and for a grand jury indictment charging him with promoting dangerous drugs, promoting detrimental drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 280 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, Big Island police said.

Norbert Thomas Burke Jr., 48, also jumped bail, violating terms of release on bail, contempt of court and failure to appear in court. He is wanted in connection with a theft. He is described as 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Michael David Negrini, 51, is wanted on six warrants, including two for assaulting a police officer. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Big Island police ask anyone with information about the wanted persons to call the department's nonemergency line at 935-3311 or CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo and 329-8181 in Kona.

 

Teen, 17, arrested in robbery of boy

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy yesterday for allegedly robbing a 14-year-old boy at a Honolulu-area school.

Police said the older teenager threatened to physically hurt the younger boy if he did not give him money.

The 14-year-old gave him his money, and reported the robbery yesterday.
