The planned Maunalua Bay shark tour sleeps with the fishes, and rightly so. East Oahu residents coalesced swiftly against the proposed operation, citing public safety and environmental concerns. Critics have legitimate questions and the business owner who scrapped the plan was smart to hear them out.
