A marketplace of ideas
POSTED: Monday, April 13, 2009
After 127 years, the Star-Bulletin is new again.
Through earthquakes, power blackouts, 9/11, even World War II, Hawaii's longest-running newspaper has strived mightily to serve the public's interest. Each challenge reminds us of, and renews, our commitment to you.
With this new section, “;Views & Voices,”; we invite you anew to be part of our 1st Amendment process, to engage in our shared community.
Day in and day out, this section will aim to provide elements to inform, involve, inspire, evoke. These will include Letters to the Editor, our opinion, local commentaries, tidbits with attitude, national columnists and our own renowned columnists, Richard Borreca on Wednesdays and Cynthia Oi on Sundays. Our expanded “;Insight”; spread will provide a spot for added depth, perspective and analysis on issues.
Thanks for doing your part in our democracy: Free speech is invaluable. Read it. Write it. Live it.
