A 25-year-old Makiki man out on bail for allegedly firing a shotgun at another man in July was charged yesterday for allegedly shooting a man in the buttocks last month.

Eddieson A. Reyes was being held at the main police station cellblock last night in lieu of $350,000 bail and two warrants totaling $3,975.

Reyes, a convicted felon, was charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangering and multiple firearm charges, including use of a firearm during commission of a separate felony and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Reyes allegedly shot a 23-year-old man without provocation March 16 at DeCourt Neighborhood Park in Kalihi Valley, police said.

The victim was drinking beer with friends at about 12:30 a.m. when a car pulled up and five males got out, police said.

Someone yelled “;gun,”; and the victim and a witness ran, police said.

A gun was fired, and the victim was hit in the buttocks, police said. Police initially arrested Reyes on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder.

The victim survived, but a bullet remains lodged near his femur.

On the night of July 12, a 27-year-old man was partying at his friend's house in Kalihi when Reyes was driving by, police said. The victim said something to Reyes, so he stopped his car and allegedly pulled out a shotgun.

Reyes reportedly got into a fight with the man and allegedly fired a single shot at him and missed, police said. The shooting took place at Amelia and North School streets.

In this case, police had also initially arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder, but he was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening and drug charges.

He was released on $75,000 bond.

Reyes has a court record dating to March 31, 2004. He has been convicted of first-degree criminal property damage, felony drug charges, misdemeanor assault and abuse of a family member.
