Hospital awards 6 scholarships

Wahiawa General Hospital awarded $1,000 scholarships to six high school graduates who will enroll in courses that lead to a degree in nursing. From Waialua High School, Freida Hurst-Naranjol received the Anne H. Jones Memorial Scholarship; Desiree Pound, the Wahiawa General Hospital scholarship; and Sara White, the Yealane Whang Memorial Scholarship. From Mililani High School, Kate Kawamoto and Nicholas Rivera III both earned Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated scholarships. Janice Ordonio of Leilehua High School won the Peggie Barefoot Memorial Scholarship.

Group 70 International announced that Cami L. Kloster will receive professional accreditation for leadership in energy and environmental design. She is one of 19 LEED AP personnel in the company.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Hawaii promoted Co Vavul to director of sales, online travel and distribution. She was previously regional field marketing manager in Starwood Hotels and Resorts Hawaii and French Polynesia and also held various positions at Sheraton Maui Resorts, Sheraton Waikiki, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, Moana Surfrider and the Royal Hawaiian.
