Hawaii Pacific tennis teams ranked

The Hawaii Pacific men's tennis team is ranked fifth while the women's team is ranked 15th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association polls released yesterday.

The men's team lost to No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic and No. 4 Valdosta State over the weekend, but beat Georgia State & College, which was ranked fourth last week.

The women's team lost to No. 4 Valdosta State and No. 5 Armstrong Atlantic, but also had two shutout victories to climb three spots in this week's poll.

» The No. 1 Brigham Young-Hawaii women's tennis team beat Academy of Art 9-0 yesterday to improve to 21-0 this season.

 

Silverswords lose rain-shortened game

Anuhea Yamaguchi homered, but it was all the offense the Chaminade softball team could muster in a 6-1 loss to Sonoma State yesterday in Rohnert Park, Calif.

The game was halted after 4 1/2 innings due to rain and the second game of the scheduled doubleheader was not played.

 

BYU-Hawaii golf team ends with win

The Brigham Young-Hawaii men's golf team finished up its season by beating Hawaii-Hilo, Hawaii Pacific and Chaminade in a four-team match yesterday at the Turtle Bay Resort Fazio Course.

Matthew Hunt took medalist honors with a 1-under 71 to lead the Seasiders. BYU-Hawaii beat UH-Hilo by 11 strokes, which finished in second with a team total of 316. Hawaii Pacific with a 328 while Chaminade came in last with a 484.
