Missing man, 42, prompts bulletin

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 42-year-old man whose belongings were found Monday in a rowboat off Keehi Lagoon.

Erik Whaley was last seen at 1 p.m. last Saturday in the area of Keehi Lagoon.

The rowboat was found with Whaley's personal items, floating nine miles offshore of Keehi Lagoon.

Whaley, also known is “;Edrish,”; is described as Caucasian, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown wavy hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.

Man, 25, mugged at knifepoint by 3

Police were looking for three males who robbed a man along a bike path on Kapahulu Avenue.

Police said the 25-year-old victim was walking along the bike path at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was approached by the three suspects.

One brandished a knife and demanded money. The victim handed over cash and the suspects fled on foot.

Police did not provide a description of the suspects.

Ewa Beach man arrested in attack

Police arrested a 19-year-old Ewa Beach man who allegedly attacked another man without provocation.

Police said the victim, 18, was walking with friends at about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect approached him and punched him. The suspect then fled on foot.

Police found the suspect at his house and arrested him for investigation of second-degree assault.

Woman raped at friend's house

Police are looking for an unknown number of men who allegedly sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman Wednesday night in Ewa Beach.

Police said the woman reported Thursday being sexually assaulted by unknown suspects who were at a friend's home.

Police have classified the case as a first-degree sexual assault.

Motorist sought in Puna car crash

Big Island police are asking for help in finding the driver of a white four-wheel drive, single-cab pickup truck seen in the area of a car crash in Puna in late January.

Police and fire rescue units responded at 7 a.m. Jan. 29 to a single car crash at the intersection of Highways 11 and 130.

Police said the car lost control and hit a light post after driving over what looked like oil on the roadway.

Witnesses saw the driver of a pickup truck stop, then abruptly leave the scene.

The truck, which may have been a Toyota, had a red sticker on the driver's-side rear window, police said.

The driver was in his early 30s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a fair complexion, wearing a jacket and sunglasses.
