2 men are arrested in robbery attempt
Police arrested two downtown Honolulu men who allegedly tried to rob another man Wednesday in Iwilei.
Police said the victim, 31, was walking along Dillingham Boulevard at 9:26 p.m. when the suspects approached him from behind and tried to take his wallet.
One of the suspects held the victim while the other punched him, police said. But the victim fought back, and the suspects fled without getting anything, police said.
Officers found the suspects, ages 18 and 20, at a nearby bus stop on North King Street and arrested them for investigation of second-degree robbery.
Both suspects live in the same building downtown.

Fisherman vanishes amid rough waves
Big Island fire rescue crews were to resume this morning the search for a 35-year-old fisherman who was reported missing yesterday, according to a Hawaii County Fire Department news release.
The man was fishing with a friend along Government Beach Road in Waawaa in lower Puna when he jumped into the ocean while holding a rope and tried to cross a channel, the release said.
The man apparently was unable to climb onto a rock across the channel where his friend was waiting, and the friend tried to help him but could not, fire officials said.
The man eventually succumbed to the waves, and it took two hours before the friend was able to swim the channel back to shore to call for help.
