Pearl City handles Leilehua

Chase Numata scored on a fielding error in the third inning, and Bronson Oda followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to drive in Derrick Viela as top-ranked Pearl City held off Leilehua 8-4 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West baseball at Fred Wright Park yesterday.

With two runs in the fifth inning, Leilehua strung together three straight hits to rally within 4-2, but Pearl City capitalized on Mules errors in the top of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach with three unearned runs.

Kalei Hensley singled up the middle to drive in Joe Frederick in the fifth inning to highlight a three-run inning to lead the visiting Hurricanes over the Seariders.

After nearly 10 innings, Michael Memea scored the game-winning run to lead the Sabers past the Trojans.

Mililani's Travis Inouye hit a two-run homer in the seventh to force the extra innings.
