The Hawaii Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs named Samantha Bernard of Aiea as its 2009 Young Person of the Year.

Bernard will travel to Disneyland to participate in the Regional Youth of the Year Competition.

The Hawaii Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association announced its board of directors for 2009: Margie Lehman, president; Lauren Watase, first vice president; Dean Calibraro, second vice president; Andre Alferos, treasurer; and Sandi Williams, secretary. Directors include Dave Evans, Courtney Watson and past president Kainoa Daines.

First Hawaiian Bank has announced the following new promotions: Joanne H. Arizumi to senior vice president and team leader, main banking region; Jeffrey N.M. Higashi to senior vice president and team leader, corporate banking division; David A. Honma to senior vice president and region manager, Hawaii region office; and Brian M. Kakihara to senior vice president and branch manager, Kahului, Maui, branch.
