Kekoa Hughes fanned nine batters and allowed two earned runs in seven innings to lead Kahuku over host Radford 7-5 yesterday in an Oahu Interscholastic Association White Division baseball contest.

The Red Raiders snapped the Rams' three-game winning streak with a two-run sixth that broke a 5-5 tie.

Kahuku's St. John Lessary III led off the top of the sixth with a single, then came home on Joe Deal's single to center. Brian Kukahiko roped a double down the left-field line to add another run.

Kahuku reliever R.J. Van Ness pitched a scoreless seventh.

Radford's Brad Osbourne struck out eight in the loss.
