UH softball team beats LaTech
The Hawaii women's softball team beat Louisiana Tech 4-0 yesterday in Ruston, La.
The win earned the Rainbow Wahine their opening WAC series behind another strong outing by pitcher Stephanie Ricketts. Coming off a no-hitter on Saturday, Ricketts held the Lady Techsters hitless through 6 2/3 innings.
It was the second win in the three-game series for UH.
Hawaii finishes the road trip with a single game against Grambling State tomorrow.
Wahine sailing team finishes 14th
The Hawaii women's sailing team placed 14th out of 18 teams yesterday at the St. Mary's Women's Intersectional in St. Mary's City, Md.
Next up for the Wahine is the St. Francis Invitational in San Francisco, April 4-5.
Vulcans sweep baseball doubleheader
The Hawaii-Hilo baseball team defeated Academy of Art 9-2 and 11-3 in a doubleheader yesterday at San Francisco.
Vulcans shortstop Thomas Brown went 3-for-3 in the first game, scoring a run and driving in two.
In the second game, UHH's Keoni Manago and Ronel Trias had three hits each as the Vulcans improve to 10-9.
