Hawaii gas prices stuck at $2.45

The statewide average price for unleaded gasoline stayed at $2.45 for the third consecutive week despite Honolulu, Hilo and Wailuku all showing increases from the previous month, according to AAA.

Yesterday's average price in the state was 7 cents above a month ago but down $1.14 from the same time last year.

Shop A Le'a to start March 23

 

Ala Moana Center is hosting its second annual Shop A Le'a, a weeklong spring fashion and shopping festival, from March 23 to 29.

Retailers from Ala Moana Center will offer lifestyle seminars, fashion shows, trunk shows, cuisine demonstrations and live entertainment.

Among those participating are Bare Escentuals, Harry Winston, lululemon athletica, Maui Divers Jewelry and Pacific Place Tea Garden.

Most events are free and open to the public. There also will be mallwide shopping and dining offers, and a grand-prize shopping vacation for two to Las Vegas worth $4,500.

Self storage incentive offered

Hawaii Self Storage has started a promotion in which customers whose referrals result in new storage contracts will be paid 50 percent of the referred customer's first month rent, up to $625. In addition, the referred customer will receive a 25 percent discount for the first six months.

The company offers to pay commissions directly to the person who makes the referral or to an organization of their choice.

Hawaii Self Storage has five Oahu locations. They are in Kaimuki, Kapolei, Mililani, Pearl City and Salt Lake.

Six Flag shares flagging

Shares of Six Flags Inc. reached a new low yesterday after the theme park operator said it could not meet a looming financing obligation and a bankruptcy filing may be in the future.
