Modern Pacific Weddings is closing its boutique in Kaimuki after one year there.

The shop at 3620 Waialae Ave. is holding a 50 percent storewide sale on sample bridal gowns, veils, jewelry, shoes, stationery and accessories until Wednesday. Furniture and decor are on sale as well, and the space is available for rent.

Owner Regan Schultz said in her most recent blog post on Valentine's Day that the latter part of last year and this year have proved challenging times for Modern Pacific Weddings.

“;We love our little wedding boutique dearly as do so many brides, but unfortunately we will not be able to remain in business due to the hard-hitting economic times,”; Schultz wrote at modwed.com. “;We are all very sad, because we truly have the cutest, most cutting-edge and contemporary bridal company in the whole state.”;

Schultz told the Star-Bulletin that Modern Pacific Weddings will keep its Web site running, and is still considering whether to continue its wedding coordination services—which range from full ceremony packages to photography, videography and custom stationery design.

Brands carried by the boutique include designer bridal gowns by Nicole Miller, Kirstie Kelly, Thread, WTOO and Tamara Catz, as well as Adele Wechsler's Eco-Couture Wedding Dress Lines, and green stationery products including Waste Not Paper.
