Kaneohe library has a 'hot spot'

The Kaneohe Public Library is now a “;hot spot”; - and by this we don't mean it's unusually warm or especially trendy. The library now offers free wireless Internet access. Bring your laptop, pull up a chair and hit the Net.

Friends of Kaneohe Library provided the funding for the new service, which does not, by the way, including access to any printers. To print something from an online source, the library's computers may be used.

The library cautions that the Wi-Fi service is unsecured, so caution is advised when sending or receiving confidential information.

The Kaneohe library is the second to offer free Wi-Fi. A pilot program was launched last year at the Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library.

Chorus to honor former dean

He has also authored several books, including “;The Composers Point of View: Choral Music,”; “;The Composers, Arrangers, Conductors and Singers”; and “;Singers' Liturgical Latin.”;

Entertainment for the benefit event will include performances by Minnesota's Concordia Choir, conducted by Rene Clauson, and the Solmati quartet, with singer Ruth Shiroma Foster, clarinetist Norm Foster, double bassist John Gallagher and violinist Duane Padilla.
