9 paths to spring style

Neiman Marcus will be hosting its Spring Trend Event through Monday, with the opportunity to check out the newest apparel and accessories for spring.
There will be informal modeling from noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday, showcasing the nine trends for spring, which are:
1. Pink: Available in every shade, from the most demure petal pink to hot pinks and those with a tinge of red, closer to coral.
2. One-shoulder dressing: This look was big on the Golden Globes red carpet and will trickle down from celebs to the individual on the street, whether for evening or secreted under a jacket by day.
3. Snakeskin accessories: The luxe look will be available in real or faux styles, the latter for those with a conscience.
4: Statement shoes: Those on a limited budget should consider making this their one splurge for the season, instantly updating and transforming any wardrobe to add a touch of drama, excitement, sex appeal and freshness. The new shoes boast high heels, whether in the form of platforms or wedges, and high-vamp and strappy details.
5. Ruffles: Thanks to “;Mad Men”; and the somber economy, the ladylike look is back, and along with it, delicate frills and flourishes of ruffles on skirts, tops and dresses.
6. Carryalls: Designers have mastered the art of the big but lightweight handbag, unstructured and able to hold your life story.
7. Colorful cardigans: The cocoony cardigan is considered the new jacket, bringing a sense of drapey, enveloping comfort to daily wear while adding polish to dresses and separates.
8. Graphics: New designs offer vivid geometric, optic prints that come on stronger than airy, lacy looks of the past.
9. Bold jewelry: Complementing the bright colors and patterns of spring, the new baubles hold their own in size and color, with pink and turquoise leading the way. Statement jewelry also offers an effortless way to perk up a wardrobe.
