CHICAGO » Kamehameha alumnus Brian Ching was named to the roster for the U.S. men's soccer team's World Cup qualifier against Mexico on Wednesday.

Coach Bob Bradley announced the roster yesterday. Eighteen of the players participated in the first two rounds of World Cup qualifying last year.

Also on the roster is Landon Donovan, who has the most international experience on the roster with 105 appearances. He's the United States' career leader in goals and assists and is one goal shy of tying Brian McBride for the most goals in World Cup qualifying (10).

The Americans will play Mexico at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, to open the final round of regional qualifying. The top three teams from among the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, and Trinidad and Tobago automatically advance to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The fourth-place team will compete in a two-game playoff Nov. 14 and 18 against the fifth-place finisher in South American qualifying.
