Fujikawa 3 shots back at Pearl Open

Tadd Fujikawa, who received two sponsor's exemptions to start the PGA Tour's Florida swing, is three shots off the pace after yesterday's opening round of the 31st annual Hawaii Pearl Open.
Japan's Makoto Endo is in first after shooting a stellar 8-under 64. The 27-year-old had his golf bag stolen shortly after he arrived, but David Ishii, the director of golf at the Pearl Country Club, helped Endo get a replacement set that did little to hurt his game.
John Ellis of San Jose, Calif., is a shot back at 65, with four others tied for third with 6-under 66s, including Japan's Yuta Ikeda, who recently gained exempt status on the Japan pro tour. Joining him is fellow Japanese touring pro Toshinori Muto, who finished ninth on the JGTO money list in 2008.
Fujikawa is tied with Ishii and local 14-year-old amateur Lorens Chan at 5-under 67. Fujikawa, the 18-year-old Hawaii favorite who shot a 62 at the Sony Open in Hawaii last month, received sponsor's exemptions to play in the Honda Classic and Puerto Rico Open.
