Hina Mauka rehab program gets another $10,000

Hina Mauka, which provides prevention, treatment and recovery services for those with alcoholism and chemical dependency, received $10,000 from the First Hawaiian Foundation. The money is the fourth installment of a five-year $50,000 grant.
Hina Mauka's Ke Alaula treatment program at the Women's Community Correctional Center also received $5,000 from the Women's Fund of Hawaii. The money will be used to produce a dramatic play to raise community awareness of and prevent domestic violence.
Ruth's Chris Steak House in Lahaina Center named Michael Lowney as general manager. His experience includes being operating partner of Napili Tavern, compound general manager for Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe & Emporium in Wailea and general manager of Wolfgang Puck's Spago Maui at the Four Seasons Resort Maui.
Joaquin “;Kin”; Manibusan was appointed by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement to assist with its Kekaha Community Enterprise Center. A graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law, Manibusan will help manage and coordinate the construction of the facility, located inside the Kekaha Homestead.
