Ross Dress for Less will be joining Target at Kapolei Commons, an open-air mall at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Kalaeloa Boulevard.

Ross will occupy a 30,078-square-foot space, which was originally slated for Circuit City, with plans to open in the fall of this year. Ross currently has 11 stores in Hawaii - eight on Oahu, one on Maui and two on the Big Island.

It joins a growing list of tenants, including Target, Sports Authority, Petco, OfficeMax, Salon Bobbi and Guy, Aloha Salads, Subway, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Let's Party and Pacific Homes, which are scheduled to open in March.

Kapolei Commons, a 610,000-square-foot mall, is expected to open in three phases. The first phase opens in March, while the second phase is slated to open in the fall.

Phase II will feature a Regal Cinemas, Kua'aina Sandwich, Bank of Hawaii and other restaurants.

The third and last phase - slated to open in 2011 - is a main street-style selection of shops, which will include Pacific Sunwear, Vitamin Shoppe, and Verizon Wireless.

MK Kapolei LLC, a partnership of The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group, is developing Kapolei Commons. The open-air mall will be leased and managed by General Growth Properties.
