Mililani is going to have to solve the Oahu Interscholastic Association's toughest defense if it wants to repeat as league champion.

The top-seeded Trojans had a bye in the first round of the OIA boys soccer tournament, but will play rival Leilehua today.

The Mules, who struggled to a 2-3-7 record during the regular season, beat Kalani 2-1 in a game decided by penalty kicks at Pearl City yesterday and visits Mililani at 7 tonight for the chance to move on.

Leilehua battled Mililani to a draw in Wahiawa on Dec. 27 and lost a close 2-1 match when they visited the Trojans last Tuesday.

Mililani allowed only eight goals in the regular season while scoring 29, while Leilehua scored 10 goals in 12 games and allowed only seven.

Kaiser shut out Pearl City 2-0 yesterday to earn a date with Roosevelt in the quarterfinals today. The Cougars finished the regular season in sixth place in the seven-team Red East with a 3-6-3 record, but had no problem stopping the Chargers, who finished the season at 7-5-1.

Jason Khamvongsa and Brandon Ale scored the goals for the Cougars against the surprised Chargers.

Kapolei moved on to the quarterfinals with a 3-1 win over Kahuku, last year's Division II champion, at Moanalua last night. Justin Malver paced the attack for the Hurricanes with two goals and Micah Uehara added another. Kapolei (8-4-1) plays Kalaheo (8-2-2) in the quarterfinals today at Aiea.

Na Menehune beat Campbell 2-0 last night on goals by David Ogata and Justin Watanabe.

White semifinals set

McKinley (5-3-3) will play top seed Waialua (10-0) today in the OIA White semifinals after beating Waipahu 3-1 last night at Radford.

Radford (6-4-1) will play Kailua (9-1) in the other semifinal after the Rams defeated Kaimuki 4-1 last night. The first semifinal begins at 5:15 at Kailua, with the other to follow.
