Obama honorees speaking at Oahu aviation museum

The Tuskegee Airmen were President Obama's guests at last week's inauguration; 10 of them rode in the inaugural parade later that day. It was an acknowledgment of the accomplishments of the all-black elite force of World War II pilots, and the path they paved for future generations.

Their story will be carried to Hawaii by Lt. Col. Bill Holloman, one of the 10 who rode in the parade, and Lt. Col. Alex Jefferson.

Their lectures, “;From Tuskegee to Triumph,”; take place at the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, with Holloman speaking at 2 p.m. Sunday, and Jefferson at 2 p.m. Feb. 7. Signings of books about the Tuskegee Airmen and of “;Red Tail”; P-51 model aircraft will follow.

Holloman also will give a school group presentation on “;Field Trip Fridays,”; 9 a.m. to noon every Friday in February.
