Slipping through the cracks

A convicted child-beater was allowed out on bail
To return to her victims instead of to jail?
Her appeal was based on sovereignty
She said, “;Criminal laws don't apply to me.”;
The prosecutor objected, but didn't shout
Relying on Judge Crandall to figure it out.
Bail pending appeal is not a right.
A creditable appeal issue must be in sight.
It's clear that the system was indeed lax
As this child-beater slipped through the cracks.
The judge blamed the prosecutor, but note this
It was a frivolous appeal that this judge missed.
