Fail and farewell

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
For Bush whom I bashed a lot
A proxy is hard to find.
Bush leaves with some regret
But with no fond adieu.
Although he was an easy target
I didn't get to throw a shoe.
Obama's off to a glorious start
But where will we wind up?
I'll keep my handy pencil sharp
If Obama does screw up.
